As professional wedding photographers with over 300 weddings experience, both in Sapporo, Japan, and Victoria, BC my wife and I have many great ideas for brides and groom on their wedding day.
Some of our tips include finding the right wedding dress or accessories, and some include planning the timeline of your wedding day, and how to orchestrate your wedding photography and work with your wedding photographer.
When you are thinking about the style of your perfect wedding dress or accessory piece, look at magazines and websites to find pictures of models, or photographs of brides and bridal parties with people who have similar body features. Perhaps you have longer legs, a longer torso, a narrow face, soft features. Whatever it is, finding these wedding items on someone who shares similar features will give you a great starting point to find the perfect wedding dress and accessories.
When it comes to wedding photography, wearing a wedding dress that works for you, and that you love will allow you to feel more comfortable, and allow us to create incredible wedding photographs.
One of the more important aspects of successful wedding photography is having enough time to create outstanding images of the bride and groom.
For most of our wedding photography commissions in Victoria I recommend a 2 o’clock ceremony, and 6 o’clock reception. That allows enough time for the ceremony, travel time, photographs of family and friends, fun photographs of the bridal party, and terrific photographs for the bride and groom at two or more locations. Many images at a wedding are traditional by nature (ie. Family portraits and suchlike), and if you don’t give yourself enough time, often the bride and groom photography time is cut short. Remember to factor in travel time, time for a receiving line, and time for unusual traffic. We can help you plan your wedding photography schedule to make it stress free, fun and memorable!
Finally, to get the most out of your wedding photography experience, take the time to talk and plan the types of images you want your wedding photographer to capture. I like my brides and grooms to bring me magazine clippings, or e-mail me URL’s of wedding photographs they love. I want to make sure my wedding photographs capture the character and unique relationship my clients share with each other.
